Ghana Tourism Authority has donated 120 T-shirts to Hasaacas Ladies Football Club as they embark on their CAF Women’s Champions League journey.
The T-shirts are in diverse colours and have two adinkra symbols – “nsoromma” and “fawohodie” as well as some tidal waves intertwined on it. There is also a bold inscription of ‘BEYOND THE RETURN” on it as well.
“Beyond the Return” is a follow-up to the successful β€œYear Of Return” Ghana 2019’ campaign. It is a 10-year project under the theme, β€œA decade of African Renaissance – 2020-2030”
The ‘nsoromma’ (star) on the t-shirt represents Africans as children of the heavens.
The ‘fawohodie’ symbol represents freedom, emancipation and independence of the African.
The red, yellow and green waves indicate that the waves that carried the African ancestors carried them in the colours of Africa. The waves face backwards showing their return because what is lost in the sea is brought back by the waves.
Apart from giving the ladies a beautiful and uniform look, the T-shirts will also serve as a way of projecting Ghana and the ‘Beyond the Return’ agenda on the African continent.
Hasaacas Ladies have since left the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampam where they had been camping for about 2 weeks.
The Ladies are currently in Takoradi and will be leaving for Ivory Coast tomorrow.
Hasaacas Ladies will play their first CAF Champions League qualifier against the Rivers Angels of Nigeria on Saturday 25th July, 2021 at Stade Champroux in Ivory Coast.
