The Swiss goalkeeper will complete his medical before becoming Bayern Munich’s starting goalkeeper for the remainder of the season.
Sommer is expected to be a temporary solution for Bayern Munich’s goalkeeping crisis, at least until Neuer who has been sidelined for the rest of the season returns. The 34-year-old was in the final six months of his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach before being approached by the Bundesliga champions who were in dire need of a goalkeeper.

The Bundesliga side are in desperate need of a first-choice keeper for the rest of the season following Manuel Neuer’s injury. Neuer broke his leg during a skiing accident while on holiday and was ruled out for the rest of the season. Bayern currently only has Sven Ulreich and Johannes Schenk on the books as backups. As noted by Transfermarkt, Ulreich has only made three appearances this season.
