Elmina Youth Summit successfully held
Earlier this week, on the 3rd of July the Youth in Diplomacy and Community Development, as part of our mission to drive social change and development successfully organised the maiden edition of Elmina Youth Summit which sought to empower young people of Elmina to take up responsibilities in transforming Elmina Town.
We were privileged to have the presence of Prof. Annan Prah, Hon. John Sterlin, Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom, Nana Amissah Mensah-Dadziebo, Bismark Botchwey as our speakers who touched on most relevant topical issues regarding social Change and Development.
It was an honour to have True Community, a US-based organisation focused on Health and Well-being in our midst. They organised a CPR Training session to introduce young people to lifesaving techniques in emergency situations. With this at the finger tips, emergency life-threatening situations like chocking, seizure can easily be handled at first point before calling ambulance or an expert to the scene. This would go a long way to save many lives. That is to say; the Ghanaian community has lost many lives through such situations which could have been handled with simple lifesaving techniques. We’re happy to partner True Community to sustain this project in Ghana.
Despite the low turnout, it was extremely Empowering moment for the youth present. We look forward engaging the community stakeholders closely to embark on special projects targeted to the youth and community.
