I am an international artiste. Stop comparing me to Gyakie – Wendy shay
Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay, has issued a caution to her fans and entertainment gurus comparing her to Gyakie.
During her appearance on the Day show on TV3 with the undisputed Berla Mundi, Wendy Shay declared, “It’s actually not fair to even compare two talented people because we are all shining and that is what I love about what is going on right now in the industry.”
Wendy Shay was quick to dismantle the practice in the entertainment industry, asserting that the current music industry landscape is marked by a refreshing wave of inclusivity, where multiple stars can shine simultaneously.
“Gone are the days,” she notes, “where it was just one female artiste shining or two male shining. The sky is so big to contain all the stars, we are all shining and making our money so it’s not fair.”
Speaking on her consistency in the game, she also revealed that she’s working harder every day to stay relevant after her entry 5 years ago.
“I mean I have been doing and giving hit back to back for five years. There shouldn’t be any comparison,” she affirmed.
According to her, “Survivor” really opened a huge platforms for her to be recognized as an international artiste.
“Survivor really opened doors for me and I am an international artiste as well and I am working towards it to become a global artiste,” she answered.
With the zeal to be a mighty artiste, she is ever ready to do everything to stay in the game.
“Like they say The race is not for the swift; once you’re working hard and working on yourself, you are going to get wherever you put your mind to,” she stated.
