The Ghana Education Service has issued a strong message to teachers, directors, and students confirming the last batch of JHS students who will write BECE.

Per the document sighted, the management of GES said it has come to their attention that some heads of public basic schools are repeating the last academic year’s JHS2 students who are progressing to JHS3 this academic year.

According to the statement issued, the management takes serious exception to such practice, and this is due to the fact that the current JHS3 students are the last batch of the Objective-Based Curriculum who will write BECE this year.

It went on to stress that the current JHS2 students are the first batch who will write BECE in 2024 using Standard-Based Curriculum.

In view of this, all the last year’s JHS2 students should progress to JHS3 in order not to disadvantage any Objective-based Curriculum students in the BECE.

The Management therefore, requests all directors to take this directive seriously.
