Komenda College Of Education celebrates Diamond Anniversary
Komenda College of Education celebrated its 75th Anniversary on the 11th of March, 2023 on the Theme: Promoting Sustainable National Development: The Contribution of Komenda College Of Education in 75 years.
Series of events were organized and well executed with the Grand Durbar on the College field.
The anniversary which was to be graced by The President of the land, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was represented by the Deputy minister for Education, Madam Gifty Twum Ampofo. The MCE for K.E.E.A, Hon. Lawyer Solomon Ebo Appiah who is a proud alumni also stood for Hon Justina Marigold Assan, the Central Regional Minister. Dr. Eng. Nana Ato Arthur, Head of Local Government,Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisi, Former MP for Cape Coast North constituency and many KOSA members across the county all graced the durbar.
The occasion was also used to commission the new administration block named after Abraham Bruce Sam and the Conference facility within the block named after Dr J.S Annan. Other existing facilities were renamed. Notable among them were: The Complex Hall- Now Robert Mensah Complex Hall, The tutors flats now JK Dadzie flats, The Home Economics block now Gladys Annan Nunoo Block among others.
The college which offers sign language as a Liberal first year course had some interesting performances from the Sign language unit including singing the college ‘s ode. The college’ s airforce cadet was tremendous with parade performances to grace the occasion.
The Deputy minister for education urged all students to be abreast with new technological ways of teaching and learning.
The College honoured staff and students who have excelled in their line of duties for the college.
The college was well represented by their enviable alumni KOSA in their numbers.
