The Ghana Education Service (GES) Chases Adisco bad boys
In response to the viral video of some Adisadel college students fighting in a dorm at the institution, the Ghana education department reacted quickly.
In a widely circulated video, the two students are seen fighting. In an effort to knock his head on the metal bed, one of the pupils was seen grabbing hold of the other and pushing him away.
It has been established from the audio that the two were fighting over a mobile phone. The Ghana Education service has since condemned the incident and indicated that it was committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students across the country.
Many, including old student of the Adisadel College have expressed worry about the incident and have also questioned the disciplinary and safety measures in the school.
Authorities of the school have as well provided a quick response to the video and have outlined measures to discipline all the students involved in the act.
The main perpetrator of the assault will be taking the WASSCE exams at a designated WAEC center instead of campus.
The victim will also be sent home but will have to return to the school to write the exams in the company of a parent or guardian.
The student who filmed the incident and circulated it online will also face disciplinary action.
He has been suspended for one week and will then serve an additional week of suspension with labour. His mobile phone will also be confiscated.
All other students who were present during the assault but did not intervene or report the incident are facing internal suspension.
The housemaster and his assistants have been suspended pending the outcome of investigations being conducted by GES officials.
